“I Sing of Myself” is a poem that I created on March 26, 2020 while self-quarantining at home. This is a poetry collection that I had wanted to write for a while. I am naming this series “Poems in the Time of Coronavirus.”
The first line is a nod to Walt Whitman's "Song of Myself", which is one of my poetic influences. The poem describes where I am presently at in relation to people in power.
I could just say I’m one of the little people but that’s just so pedestrian and walking in a crowd is kind of a no-no right now.
My artwork, poetry, and designs exist to aid you in your soul's journey because each has assisted me in my soul's journey. I aim to combine my abilities to create works that enrich life, inspire others, encourage laughter, stimulate imagination, inner reflection, and conscious thought. My objective is to promote healing, peace, and love through art. Because I love creating for the joy of it, it takes shape in different forms which define me as a multi-disciplinary artist. I'm part- poet, painter, photographer, graphic designer, and writer. As such, I use many different media, often incorporating my physical artwork into digital projects.
